Verona, New York – Campground Owners of New York (CONY), a trade association for privately owned campgrounds, honored several member campgrounds with awards for marketing and creative achievement, at the association’s awards banquet held during its 51st Annual Exposition for the Outdoor Hospitality Industry, at the Turning Stone Resort, Verona, New York, November 8th.

Review of submissions and voting for the “Best of” marketing projects and creative achievements was carried out by attendees during the Exposition, and the results were announced during the awards ceremony.

Plaques were presented to the winners as follows:

Best Campground Promotional Piece – Small Format: Gary and Cathy Reinard, Copake KOA, Copake, NY. Designer: Pelland Advertising.

Best Campground Promotional Piece – Large Format: John and Jennifer Tinelli, Triple R Camping Resort and Trailer Sales, Franklinville, NY. Designer: Register Graphics.

Best Campground Souvenir or Apparel Item:  “Rectum Wrecker” Food Product Line, by Gregg and Kelly Nicholls, Lake Bluff Campground, Wolcott, NY.

According to Suzanne Bixby, CONY’s marketing and communications director, there was quite a spirit of competition and pride this year, as it was the first year items were brought to the Exposition and voted on by CONY members.

Bixby remarked, “In prior years, we’ve had a handful of awards for print and online media that were submitted beforehand, and judged by an out of sight panel. No one saw the creativity of the submissions first-hand. This year, we encouraged more people to get involved by expanding the number of categories, opening the voting to our membership, having the voting take place at the Exposition, and sparking everyone’s creative juices for their own projects. I definitely saw some mental note-taking going on and some friendly rivalry at the judging table!”

CONY’s 52nd Annual Exposition for the Outdoor Hospitality Industry is slated for November 12-14, 2015, returning to the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, NY.
